Following a magical drum circle under brilliant moonlight the night before, Aszmara taught a 3-hour master class Sunday afternoon followed by a zestful showcase of dancers from throughout the region. In the master class Aszmara taught an inspired tambourine choreography to 9/8 rhythm ~ which can be a challenging rhythm for dancers to grasp yet in Aszmara's capable hands, all participants were encouraged by her masterful methods and soon everyone was accenting the rhythm with tambourines in hand and joyfully dancing like Esmeralda in the plaza.
