Ms. Patsy Henry, aka Lisanna had a welcoming smile and an infectious spirit and enthusiasm for the
dance! I first met this dynamic woman when she set foot in one of my classes at Northampton Community College, and from the start it was abundantly clear she had a natural ability and a wealth of dance experience! She mastered finger cymbals in no time and quickly soaked up the repertoire of movements I offered!
An enterprising entrepreneuer she also quickly surmised she could be of great service to the local belly dance community by finding the best deals on coin hip scarves and other dance accessories. Utilizing her sharp business sense and consumate computer skills, this idea immediately blossomed into a full-service on-line business ~ Salome's Tent ~ which became internationally recognized; however, for those of who reside here in the Lehigh Valley, the best part was when she'd host her famous "Open Tent" events. Throughout her home she would lay out "tons" of inventory and we'd thrill to have an afternoon dedicated to "dress up" ~ Oh what fun!!! She celebrated her sisters in the dance encouraging 'em to look and feel their most glamorous. Read about Salome's Tent in her own words.
Lisanna also became well known on the seminar/conference circuit sharing her smile with the ladies who'd visit her booth, not only to get a new item to add to their costuming wardrobe but also to complement her on her skilled dance! Whether it was a solo dance she presented or one in harmony with her friends, Lisanna's dancing always inspired others!
An active member of the Lehigh Valley Arts Council, she went on to serve on the board and ultimately became President serving the greater Lehigh Valley arts community in a major capacity. I also understand she served on the board of Planned Parenthood at one time too. Talk about an advocate for women and the arts!
Lisanna left a lasting impression in the heart/minds of everyone she met,
and without this woman's major force of nature gracing us all, the world is a little less bright.
Bless her heart and God/Goddess rest her soul in peace & love
now that her earthly body has released her vivacious spirit to the LIGHT.
