Glen Velez is the world's leading frame drummer and master of "global beats." He is an internationally recognized frame drummer,
composer, scholar, and teacher, who has created his own musical style inspired by both Western percussion and frame drum performance
styles from around the world. His concerts include a beautiful array of instruments such as the Egyptian riq, (a small, intricately inlaid
tambourine), the Irish bodhran, (a large single-headed drum), and the North African tar (often seen in the hands of desert nomads).
Tahya is gathering together a group of 10 folks who already know the basics so that Glen can focus on his HANDANCE material for longer stretches of playing time and perhaps even developing solos. This series will culminate in performance with Glen at upcoming Lehigh Valley event (TBA).

"What a fantastic weekend! I was so captivated by the whole experience that I forgot about my jet-lag, and it was only when I got back home that it
finally hit me!
Glen has truly mastered his art and transmits the love of
it to others with such grace and passion.
In addition to this, there's a
wonderful energy in the group, which really enhances the whole experience.
So I'm really looking forward to doing it all again in June!"
